The CEO of UCR Group, Stephen Reeder oversees the development of buildable, biddable projects, from acquisition through plan-check, to ensure smooth production throughout the pre-construction period. Among his charitable donations, Stephen Reeder contributes to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

The John Wayne Cancer Foundation was created by the family of the iconic movie star to honor his memory. Its mission is to bring strength, courage, and grit to the battle against cancer. It achieves this through multiple initiatives, including funding research and education. Here are three innovative programs at the Foundation.

1. The John Wayne Cancer Institute: Through a partnership with St .John’s Health Center, the JWCI opened in Santa Monica, California, in 1991. It specializes in treating solid tumors through innovative technologies.
2. John Wayne Alumni Fellows Grant Program: The Foundation provides funds to alumni of the JWCI Surgical Oncology Fellowship program to assist them in research. Many of the fellows advance to leadership roles at academic institutions and cancer centers around the U.S.
3. Block the Blaze: Geared toward California junior lifeguards, this program is dedicated to raising awareness of the causes of skin cancer in a partnership with the California Surf Lifesaving Association.
